While produced in red, black, red, blue and white, the latter color is what people envision when recalling the Lamborghini Countach. It’s why Martin Scorsese had Leonardo DiCaprio’s sedated Jordan Belfort crash one of the pearly white Italian wedges in The Wolf of Wall Street, and why Lamborghini revealed the Sian-based anniversary Countach in an updated version of the hue.
This white-out Bianco-on-Bianco 1984 Lamborghini Countach, then, represents a chance to own an iconic classic supercar in its most iconic color. Arriving midway through the Countach’s production period, this LP5000 S variant replaced its LP400 predecessors’ 3.9-liter V12 with a larger 4.8-liter V12 fed by six Weber carburetors in response to rival Ferrari’s new 512BB.
Though only 321 cars were manufactured—including chassis No. 12675— the LP5000 S had cumulatively outsold the two previous LP400 generations by the second year of its three-year production run.
Little is known about chassis No. 12675’s first four years of life with its first owner, during which the odometer accumulated 50,000 kilometers. It was titled in the owner’s daughter’s name upon his death in 1988 and kept in storage for 27 years until the current owner acquired the car in 2015, who had all faulty components replaced or repaired over a full-service recommissioning. Today, the odometer reads 51,800 kilometers, or 32,187 miles.
This 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 S is headed to auction on November 5 as a part of RM Sotheby’s Gran Turismo collection, which also includes this Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, four of the greatest Ferraris ever made, and two Bugatti EB110s.

St. George Spirit’s 40th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Whiskey is a limited edition bottle that’s aimed at collectors of fine American craft whiskeys.
The California distillery’s latest release follows its portfolio of American Single Malts: Baller Single Malt Whiskey and the Lot Series, an annual expression first released in 2000.
Head distiller and blender Dave Smith sampled more than 600 casks over several months for the rarefied bottle, ultimately selecting only 14 casks to draw from for the limited release 40th Anniversary Edition.
St. George’s 40th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Whiskey is said to possess a “complex nose of vibrant cola, dark chocolate, and lager; with creamy notes of brown butter, salted caramel, sandalwood, and sweet coconut,” according to a launch statement released by the brand.
Taste-wise, the top-shelf California whiskey smacks of “bold notes of dark chocolate, walnut fudge, latte, and Amber malt mingled with buttered waffle; joined by secondary notes of coconut, spice, cinnamon, clove, candied ginger, stone fruit, and soft smoke.”
Only 1,982 bottles of the St. George Spirits 40th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Whiskey were produced–a nod to the the brand’s founding year–and it retails for $500.
You’ve heard of Stan, the Abu Dhabi-bound T. Rex skeleton that became the most expensive fossil ever sold when Christie’s auctioned off the 39-foot-long, 188-bone dinosaur specimen for $31.8 million in 2020. Now meet Shen.
Measuring 43 feet long and 16 feet tall in its anatomically correct hunting pose, Shen—Chinese for “God-like”—will star in Christie’s Hong Kong’s 20th/21st Century Art Evening event, where it’s expected to fetch $15 to $25 million as the first Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton sold in Asia.
The auction house includes many pieces of T. Rex trivia in its listing, like how its 8,000-pound bite force is twice that of the saltwater crocodile, or that its brain’s relatively large size suggests a more avian than reptilian level of intelligence. Another bird of prey-like feature is its inner ear’s gyroscopic stabilization capability, which indicates that it could easily track game while moving.
As many as 20,000 T. Rexes roamed the Earth in the Late Cretaceous period some 66 to 68 million years ago, but only 20 skeletons have been found to date, most of which are incomplete—Shen only has 54 percent of his bones.
“From its surging, bloodthirsty stance, to its remarkable preservation, this is one of the most scientifically studied T. rex skeletons to come to auction,” James Hyslop, Head of Science & Natural History at Christie’s Hong Kong auction house, said in a statement.
“After the unforgettable, record-breaking sale of Stan at Christie’s New York in 2020, it is a thrill and an immense privilege for us to be trusted with the sale of another wonderous T. rex skeleton.”
While T. Rex specimens’ rarity, ferocious demeanor and pop culture prevalence propagated by the Jurassic Park movies make them a hot ticket item for auction houses, scientists are concerned with these private sales.
“The problem with treating fossil specimens like trophies or collectibles is that their real significance comes from the information in the bones (from the obvious anatomical features to microscopic structures to even the isotopic composition of the molecules in the bone crystals), not from the object itself,” Thomas R. Holtz, a principal lecturer in Vertebrate Paleontology at the University of Maryland, told Newsweek.
“Fossils which are in museum collections are in principle accessible to researchers now and into the future for analysis and study, including types of analyses and studies that we can’t even imagine yet. Specimens which are privately owned are not so accessible, and even if they are now they might not be in the future.”
Shen’s value to science doesn’t just lie in his bones, but the process by which which he was found in Hell Creek Formation in McCone County, Montana. The positioning, surrounding rock formations, and content of surrounding sediment all provided crucial information to paleontologists upon discovery.
But if it becomes common practice to sell skeletons privately as a commodities, collectors may not bother to diligently document this info.
“Some commercial collectors just want to dig up fossils as trophies, so they don’t bother to gather these data (and may even lack the professional expertise to know what data to collect),” he said.
“Not so much about the science but about one aspect of the private vs. public issue: a specimen bought by a millionaire/billionaire might only ever be seen by the rich person, their family, their servants, and their friends.”
Despite Holtz and other scientist’s protests, Shen’s sale on November 30 is still a go. Before then, Shen will be on display at the Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall in Singapore from October 28-30.

Of course, the secret to great pulled pork is to cook it low and slow. Start with a pork shoulder and season well with salt and pepper. Dice up an onion and four cloves of garlic. Heat up some oil in a skillet and sauté the onions and garlic. Mix that with two tablespoons of tomato paste, a dash of chili spice, three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 3/4 cup of water. Put your pork in a slow cooker, cover with the sauce and cook on low for six to eight hours. Mouthwatering!

Just as Rolls-Royce bills the new Spectre as the world’s first “Ultra-Luxury Electric Super Coupe,” Cadillac is snatching some first-to-market EV glory with the full reveal of the world’s first “all-electric ultra-luxury sedan” in the CELESTIQ.
The Spectre and its characteristically bespoke offerings, while impressive, are right at home in the rest of the Rolls-Royce’s luxe six-figure lineup. But Cadillac is truly entering new territory by offering its first completely bespoke luxury car with a price tag starting at $300,000-plus and ballooning past $400,000, according to Road & Track.
Speaking of Rolls-Royce, Cadillac’s CELESTIQ ethos sounds strikingly similar to the British marque’s. “CELESTIQ is the expression of Cadillac’s artistic vision rooted in the concept that every handcrafted vehicle is a piece of commissioned art made with authentic metals, leathers, along with a premium selection of more bespoke materials,” a statement reads.
Hand-finished metals cover the futuristic 18-foot fastback’s body, from the brushed aluminum bodyside to the aluminum grille and brushed metal liftgate body openings. There are also 1,600 LEDs worth of exterior lighting animations that begin when the CELESTIQ detects an owner’s fob from 15 feet away.
Traditional hinged door handles are replaced by touch controls, and myriad 23-inch wheels (the same exact gargantuan diameter as the Rolls-Royce Spectre’s) are available in “countless color choices.”
Hand-wrapped leathers and fine trims in an “endless” array of colors will fill the interior, which is topped by a smart-glass roof and centered around a pillar-to-pillar, dual-pane 55-inch HD display, the largest in the CELESTIQ’s segment.
Four other displays include an 11-inch touchscreen front command center, an eight-inch touchscreen rear command center, and a 12.6-inch rear infotainment display.
This amount of customization requires more than an online configuration. As such, customers—clients, as Cadillac calls the CELESTIQ-curious—will work with a concierge and Cadillac’s Design team to personalize their car.
What’s not completely unique is the Ultium electric platform, the same one found in the Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado. In the CELESTIQ’s application, predicted performance includes an output of 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet torque, as well as 300 miles of range.
The Cadillac CELESTIQ is expected to go into production in 2023. We’ll see how much this ostensible Rolls-Royce rival can deliver.

El Tesoro’s third generation Master Distiller Carlos Camarena teamed with legendary seventh generation Jim Beam bourbon distiller Fred Noe to age the special extra anejo tequila in Booker’s Bourbon 30th anniversary bottles.
“We are thrilled to introduce a new, unparalleled expression from El Tesoro to mark 85 years of history at La Alteña,” Camarena said in a statement trumpeting the rarefied collab.
“Fred Noe is a great friend and a true legend in the distilling world, and we are so proud of this new spirit we have made together. The result is a complex tequila layered with sweetness, oak and cooked agave. We toast to our friendship with the Noe family, and to honoring our shared tradition of producing some of the best spirits in the world.”
El Tesoro shipped barrels that previously held Booker’s 30th Anniversary bourbon from Kentucky to Mexico, and the casks were found to be redolent of rich vanilla flavors after having aged Booker’s for 16 years. They were then filled with El Tesoro Blanco tequila an aged for at least three years, and then tapped at peak maturity to make the 85th Anniversary Extra Anejo tequila.
El Tesoro’s 85th Anniversary Limited Edition Extra Anejo tequila will be available in the U.S. beginning in November for $499.99 per bottle, at least while supplies last.
